Step back in time with this stunning poster print showcasing a historic edifice built in 1790, nestled at the foot of Broad Way and facing the serene Bowling Green. Originally intended as the residence for General George Washington, the first President of the United States, this magnificent building never served its initial purpose due to the removal of the Capitol. Instead, it became the esteemed Governor's house, welcoming notable figures such as Governors George Clinton and John Jay.
For decades, this architectural marvel played a vital role in the community, serving as the customs house from 1799 until its demolition in 185. This piece captures the essence of an era gone by, making it a perfect addition to your art collection or home décor.
